Miracles and 2009

Wow What a year.  2008 has been an extremely different year, I think for most everyone I know.  When the year began we did not plan on such chaos, attacks or economic downturn.  We looked into 2008 and saw a year ahead that may be a little harder than the previous, but not to the extent we have experienced.  The terror from Mumbawi is seared into our conscious, the uncertainty of the economic downturn has gripped our attention, the bitterness of the political process has left such a bad taste in our mouth.  I know many people are ready for this year to be completed, but what about next?  Next year is not forcasted to be much better.  The economy is not suppose to recover until 2010, Russia is placing nukes in the Northern Hemisphere, Iran is threatening Israel, Israel is threatening Gaza, India and Pakistan are threatening each other, Russia is shaking its sabers at Europe, and the church is disintegrating into itself.  Wow, no wonder the world is bracing itself for 2009.
But I believe in Miracles.  I believe that God will guide us through this next year if we will listen to what He has to say.  I believe that in the midst of confusion we can walk in great calm and wisdom.  I believe that God will show us where to be and where not to be so that we will remain safe in His hands.  I believe that this is the greatest time in history for the Church to behave as they should.  The church has the very presence of God, and the ability to guide and help others, but first we must put ourselves into alignment with the Word.  Not a legalistic approach, but an understanding of the Love and Mercy that God has shown us.  This is what we must show the world.  For as Jesus has said, you know the Father because you have seen Me, they must see the Father and His love through us.

Jasmine

Jasmine
Our dog Jasmine is a working dog.
Well the breed she is a part of is a working
dog.  They herd the cows and sheep and
keep them safe.  She sleeps on the couch!
But she really does love to learn new
tricks.  She is learning how to back up on
command.  In fact because she loves to learn
new tricks we are thinking of building an
obstacle course for her in the back yard,
so she will feel like she is working.
People have different jobs to do also.
God put a special desire in each of us
to do the one thing only we can do.  Have you ever
noticed you like to do somethings more than any
one else.  I love to cook, make things, and just
sit and talk.  These are the jobs I have from
the Lord, and I love to do them. It was amazing to me
when I found out others did not enjoy what I did.
But the Holy Spirit showed me that we are all different,
have different jobs annd giftings, and will only
be happy doing what He called us to do.  In fact
when we do what God calls us to, we are the
happiest.
